In addition to working with individuals on a variety of mortgage, debt and cash flow issues, I also work with financial advisors, CPA’s and other financial services professionals who often find themselves serving the role as “quarterback”, or lead advisor, to their clients. That’s to say when their client has a financial need or question they look to their most trusted advisor for the answers. If that advisor doesn’t have the answer, they need to be able to provide direction by making a referral or coordinating efforts with an outside source, similar to how a quarterback leads a team in football.

As an advisor myself I’ve come to understand and appreciate how delicate this situation can be. We spend a great deal of time building trust with our clients and guard that trust very closely. We don’t refer our clients to anyone we wouldn’t do business with ourselves and certainly not until a level of trust has been built with that person or entity and ourselves.

I think it’s natural to want to remain involved with outside projects and if at all possible be the deliverer of advice even if coming from someone else. Perhaps a control thing but I think more accurately a great desire to deliver the highest value and service possible.

Although our clients don’t expect us to be experts in all areas of personal finance, they do have certain expectations in our ability to coordinate efforts with others in order to achieve a specific goal. With this in mind, I’m offering my unique expertise to other financial “quarterbacks” as an outsourced solution they can deliver directly to their clients.
